Fall Decor Idea

I am a person of color and  my spirits rise to heaven when I am left to collect flowers in a meadow. But then, I am not solely a spring / summer flower collector, because as a true nature lover I admire everything nature gives us, so although she limits her abundance in terms of colors I cannot contain myself and have to bring something home and have it decorate a corner in our home even for a little while.

So when we recently went to our spot on the mountain, I picked some fresh pinecones, thistles and those bubbly dry plants I have no idea what they are called to use as a fall décor.

Being left with crochet flowers that didn't make it to adorn my latest flower warmers, I stuck them into the thistles and added a bit of color to these darlings.

Put the dried collection of plants into a(n old) decorated bottle, arranged a simple arrangement into a basket and voila!

Not a lot of effort, but a sweet sight for the summer grieving eyes.

What a great idea to add your crocheted flowers! I didn't even spot them on the first picture, but it looks terrific!
I recognise that, I also want to collect things when I'm in the woods or by the sea. It's difficult though, to make beautiful decorations because of my cats! They always want to destroy, taste or play with everything I bring :-)

Truth be told: I didn't spot the crochet flowers on that first picture either... It is a marvellous idea to integrate crochet into the house other than pillows and blankets!

Well, I am sure these would be a terrific toys for cats, really challenging to have anything set up. :)

Marjan, I love displaying my flowers and because I am left with many samples there is always a motley collection to play around with.

Looks great. I should have collected pinecones from our recent travels to bring home.

Those summer grieving eyes of yours, Maya, will thank you for this delightful arrangement. How lovely it is. Your thought of combining your pretty crochet pretties to the flowers is inspired! Fall does give us lovely bounty, doesn't it.

It certainly does Kim and we are thankful for that!

the crochet flowers make the decor so much more softer and alive. It is interesting to see what a little bit of colour can do to a dry landscape
